Cekodok Pisang | Fried Banana Fritter Balls

Cekodok is a traditional fritters and popular snack in Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore. It is a deep fried fritter balls. The outer layer is crispy and it is fluffy inside. They are usually round in shape and tends to vary in size.There are many varieties of this snack, such as anchovies, prawns and onion but today, I am going make this using bananas. This recipe is quick and easy to make with less ingredients you can make an insanely simple but super tasty snack. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

400g Ripe Bananas

2 Cups All Purpose Flour

3 Tbsp Sugar

1 Tsp Baking Soda

1/2 Tsp Salt

Cooking Oil

Water


Ratio of Ingredients: Feel free to adjust the amount of ingredients to your preference. For example, Reduce the sugar in the recipe if you want less sweet.


Procedure:

1. Mash bananas with a fork. Add the flour, sugar, baking soda and salt. Add water and mix well until it reaches to the consistency.


2. Heat the cooking oil at medium heat for deep frying.


3. Use a tablespoons to scoop out the batter and drop into the hot oil. Try to shape the batter somewhat round.


4. Fry the fritters until golden brown.


5. Remove fried fritters and transfer to a plate with paper towels. Cool for few minutes before serving.



Tips: If the batter is too thick add a little water. It should be thick but runny enough to pour out of the bowl by itself.
